KOKORINSKO…A picturesque, natural wonder with unique rock formations, beautiful lakes and villages with historical folk architecture. Kokořínsko is renowned for its romantic gorges, unique sandstone towers, gates, windows and other natural features that do not exist in any other area of the Czech Republic.
The largest dominant feature of this area is the romantic Kokořín Castle, towering over the Kokořínský Mine, the main valley of the Kokořín area, where the Tubož Guesthouse is located. The valley is 14 kilometers long and is a nature reserve with lots of unique attractions. The most famous of them is Pokličky, the “mushroom-like” rock columns, located approximately two kilometers from the Kokořín Castle. The most beautiful area in the Kokořínský mine from Romanov to Pokličky is the Cinibulkova trail.
The romantic feeling of this area is captured in the captivating view of the Harasov pond lined with rocks, a popular place for swimming in summer. For those fascinated by mystery and fantasy, you should not miss the legendary Houska Castle. One of the highest peaks in Kokořínsko – Vrátenská hora – is a strikingly beautiful observation tower – unique in Bohemia. From its gallery, you will experience a breathe-taking, panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Another unforgettable view can be experienced at Čapská palice. Near Liběchov and the village of Želízy you will discover several rock formations featuring carved faces known as the Devil’s Headscarved by the sculptor Václav Levý almost 200 years ago.
Kokorin Forest Villa offers accommodation in double and triple rooms and an apartment. The apartment sleeps 4 people and is ideal for a family. There is underfloor heating throughout the building.
